New Zealand’s first eInvoicing milestone

Much of the early momentum behind eInvoicing in New Zealand has come from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), the lead government agency responsible and the registered New Zealand Peppol Authority

MBIE is walking the talk by getting itself ready to receive eInvoices, and we’re quietly chuffed that the very first production invoice that landed came from none other than Streamline’s Acume. The $5.75 invoice, received on 1 July 2021, successfully tested the links between the ministry’s accounting system, access providers and ourselves, an eInvoicing-enabled software provider recognised by the ministry. Its successful delivery means MBIE has easily met its deadline for receiving incoming eInvoices and is a step towards the adoption of eInvoicing by its suppliers and by all government agencies.
